Mexico Update

We just returned from Huatulco, Mexico, the Mexican government's "new Cancun". Located about 300 miles southeast of Acapulco on the Pacific coast, this destination is gradually emerging as a real favorite among beach-and-warm-weather-loving travelers. It's still in the relatively early stages of development, but the infrastructure (airport, roads, lovely hotels) is in place and expanding - all part of the master plan for the area. Santa Cruz, located on one of the nine bays of Huatulco, has been added as a port of call by a few cruise lines, and new tourist facilities are being opened almost daily. While it will be several years before Huatulco matches Cancun, which now has 122 hotels, it's a destination well worth considering. We loved it and so did the 54 clients we took with us!
